Cathetrix has been named one of the top three finalists in the prestigious Xcelerate Start-Up Competition at WHX Miami 2026, marking an important milestone in the company’s mission to improve patient safety and outcomes in catheterized care.
The final showdown and award presentations are taking place today, June 19, following a highly competitive preliminary round held yesterday on the Future X Stage. Cathetrix secured its place among the competition’s finalists after an impressive presentation of its innovative Foley-Safe catheter securement technology.
The Xcelerate Start-Up Competition serves as one of the flagship innovation platforms at WHX Miami, showcasing emerging technologies across medical devices, digital health, diagnostics, and clinical workflows. Companies selected for the final round undergo a rigorous evaluation process that assesses clinical impact, market relevance, innovation, and commercial readiness.
Representing Cathetrix during the preliminary round was Dr. Dor Golomb, urologist at Samson Assuta Ashdod University Hospital and a member of the company’s medical advisory team. Dr. Golomb presented the clinical challenges associated with inadequate catheter stabilization, including accidental catheter dislodgement, patient discomfort, increased infection risks, and the significant costs these complications impose on healthcare systems.
At the center of the presentation was Foley-Safe, Cathetrix’s FDA-cleared catheter securement solution. Designed to address longstanding limitations of traditional stabilization methods, Foley-Safe focuses on three key clinical objectives:
- Preventing accidental catheter extraction and the resulting trauma to patients.
- Reducing catheter movement that can lead to friction, irritation, and tissue damage.
- Supporting efforts to lower the risk of Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infections (CAUTIs).
Advancing to the final round reflects growing recognition of the need for innovative solutions that address one of the most common and costly challenges in patient care.
“Advancing as a top three finalist after finishing second in the initial round is an important validation of the clinical need our technology addresses,” said Tal Hadass, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at Cathetrix. “We are excited for the opportunity to present our innovation in today’s final round on an international stage and to engage with healthcare professionals, investors, and potential partners from across the healthcare industry.”
Being selected as a finalist places Cathetrix among a select group of healthcare innovators recognized for their potential to drive meaningful improvements in clinical practice. The achievement also highlights the company’s continued commitment to developing practical, evidence-based solutions that enhance patient safety while helping healthcare providers reduce preventable complications.
As final evaluations conclude, the Cathetrix team continues to welcome visitors to Pod Y106 at WHX Miami, where attendees can learn more about both the Foley-Safe and TubeX product lines and explore opportunities for distribution, clinical collaboration, and strategic partnerships.
Regardless of the competition’s final outcome, reaching the Xcelerate finals represents a significant achievement for Cathetrix and further validates the company’s vision of advancing safer, more effective catheter management worldwide.
